Churches in Cambodia exist under the general umbrella of The Evangelical Christian Fellowship but the Redeemed Christian Church of God has been registered by the government of Cambodia, impressed that the RCCG, an African based organisation took the time, interest and resources to establish an orphanage in Cambodia. In return, they offered to help the RCCG and rewarded us with church registration which is uncommon in Cambodia, Buddhists nation.
At one of the baptismal sessions, a Buddhist monk was alos baptised in the name of Jesus Christ. God is doing great things in Cambodia through our church and in spite of the financial situation, God is still very faithful. There are testimonies of God's provision, protection and salvation. In the last four years since the RCCG started in Cambodia, there have been more than 200 converts and we give God the glory.
The Church and the Orphanage in Cambodia are being funded by Lagos Province 3, under the leadership of Pastor Austin Ukaiwe. There are currently three parishes in Cambodia and though it has not been easy funding them, God has kept the field going.
The Special Assistant to the General Overseer and Regional Pastor for Asia, Pastor Remi Akintunde also visited the churches in Cambodia.
The major challenge facing the churches and the orphanage in Cambodia is funding. We pray that God will send helpers of destiny to this fertile field. The people of Cambodia are good natured and tender hearted. They have good intentions to serve God but they can become richer. And until that happens, they need to be supported.
The good thing about the Cambodia field is their positive response to the gospel in spite of the fact that the majority still worship Buddha.
