RCCG Cambodia

Churches in Cambodia exist under the general umbrella of The Evangelical Christian Fellowship but the Redeemed Christian Church of God has been registered by the government of Cambodia, impressed that the RCCG, an African based organisation took the time, interest and resources to establish an orphanage in Cambodia. In return, they offered to help the RCCG and rewarded us with church registration which is uncommon in Cambodia, Buddhists nation.

At one of the baptismal sessions, a Buddhist monk was alos baptised in the name of Jesus Christ. God is doing great things in Cambodia through our church and in spite of the financial situation, God is still very faithful. There are testimonies of God's provision, protection and salvation. In the last four years since the RCCG started in Cambodia, there have been more than 200 converts and we give God the glory.

The Church and the Orphanage in Cambodia are being funded by Lagos Province 3, under the leadership of Pastor Austin Ukaiwe. There are currently three parishes in Cambodia and though it has not been easy funding them, God has kept the field going.

The Special Assistant to the General Overseer and Regional Pastor for Asia, Pastor Remi Akintunde also visited the churches in Cambodia.

The major challenge facing the churches and the orphanage in Cambodia is funding. We pray that God will send helpers of destiny to this fertile field. The people of Cambodia are good natured and tender hearted. They have good intentions to serve God but they can become richer. And until that happens, they need to be supported.

Pastor and Pastor (Mrs) Ebenezer Oyetoran

On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.” John 20: 19-23 (ESV)

Pastor and Pastor (Mrs) Ebenezer Oyetoran are both ordained ministers of God in The Redeemed Christian Church of God Cambodia Maranatha Chapel. They are committed to love God, love people and live a humble and devoted life to God. They are both teachers of the WORD, vibrant leaders and mentors to many people.

They are blessed with humble and God-fearing children.

To the glory of God, RCCG Cambodia Maranatha Chapel which started nine years ago has impacted lives and also the leading light in the spread of the Word of God in Cambodia.

OUR HISTORY

In July 1909, a son was born into the Akindayomi family of Ondo State of Nigeria. Even though this child grew up surrounded by idol worshippers, he knew there existed a greater power and yearned to know,"The God who created the earth and everyone on it". This pursuit for God led him to the Church Missionary Society where he was baptized in 1927. Still spiritually unfulfilled, he joined the Cherubim and Seraphim church in 1931.

Whilst there, he began to hear a voice within him saying, "You will be my servant." Since this was not his intention, he decided to ignore the voice. This went on for seven years during which all the business ventures that he tried resulted into failure. In debt and without peace of mind, he found himself totally dependent on the grace of God. Here marked the beginning of a definite relationship with God.Totally broken, he yielded saying, "Lord, I will go wherever you want me to go." He asked for signs to confirm that this was indeed God's call. The confirmation came through the Bible passages of Jeremiah 1:4-10, Isaiah 41:10-13 and Romans 8:29-31. The Lord assured him that He would provide for all his needs, as he would not receive any salary from that point on. This proved to be a comforting reminder during the trials in the months ahead. He became married in 1941. He continued to worship with the Cherubim and Seraphim. In 1947, he started to become concerned that the church was departing from the true Word of God in some of its practices. By 1952, he felt totally persuaded to leave the church. He started at Willoughby Street, Ebute-Metta, Lagos a housefellowship called, the Glory of God Fellowship. Initially there were nine members but before long the fellowship rapidly grew as the news of the miracles that occurred in their midst spread.

Pa Akindayomi also had a vision of words that appeared to be written on a blackboard. The words were "The Redeemed Christian Church of God." Amazingly, Pa Akindayomi who could not read or write was supernaturally able to write these words down. In this visitation, God also said to him that this church would go to the ends of the earth and that when the Lord Jesus Christ appeared in glory, He would meet the church. The Lord then established a covenant with Pa Akindayomi, synonymous to the Abrahamic covenant in the Bible. He said that He the Lord would meet all the needs of the church in an awesome way if only members would serve Him faithfully and be obedient to His Word. It is upon this covenant that the Redeemed Christian Church of God was built.

Thus, the Redeemed Christian Church of God was born in 1952, destined by the Lord Himself to take the world for Him. The church continued to meet at 9 Willoughby Street until they were able to acquire some land thereby witnessing a relocation to the present site of the Headquarters of the church at 1-5 Redemption Way, Ebute-Metta, Lagos (formerly 1a, Cemetery Street).

Sometime in the early 70s, God had spoken to Pa Akindayomi about his successor. The Lord told him that this man who was not a member of the church then, would be a young educated man. Thus when a young university lecturer joined the church in 1973, Papa was able to recognize him in the Spirit as the one that the Lord had spoken about in the past. This man, Enoch Adejare Adeboye who was then a lecturer of Mathematics at the University of Lagos soon became involved in the church. He became one of the interpreters translating Pa Akindayomi's sermons from Yoruba to English. He was ordained a pastor of the church in 1975.

Meet Jesus

May I introduce Jesus to you?

You may not know him yet on an intimate basis but I can assure you that he knows you. The Bible tells us in Psalms 139:13-14 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

Friendship, acceptance and love

So from the very beginning of your life he was there. And if you feel a little tug on your heart right now, that is his Holy Spirit calling you into a new relationship of deep intimacy and love. If you have ever been told that following Jesus (being a Christian) is a bunch of do’s and don’ts I can tell you that isn’t true. It is about friendship, acceptance and love. But I don’t want to mislead you; it is also about total surrender and counting the cost. It cost him everything when he went to the cross on your behalf and it will cost you everything when you make him Lord of your life. That’s a serious step and you should consider it carefully.

God’s love
